PurlEase LLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy. This policy applies to your access and use of the PurlEase mobile application (the "App").
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect and How We Collect It
We design our App to collect as little personal data as possible. Because of how the App operates, we handle data in the following ways:

  • Ravelry Account Information: The App connects to your Ravelry account to access your patterns. We utilize a secure authorization protocol (OAuth) to facilitate this connection. We do not see, collect, or store your Ravelry username or password. Your use of Ravelry is governed by Ravelry’s own Privacy Policy.

  • Pattern Data: To provide the core functionality of the App, the text of the knitting or crochet patterns you select is temporarily transmitted to a third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) service for formatting and conversion. This data is processed solely for the purpose of generating the mobile-optimized view and is not stored or used by PurlEase LLC to train AI models.

  • Financial Information: All in-app purchases (such as purchasing Credits) are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. PurlEase LLC does not collect, process, or have access to your credit card information, billing address, or any other financial data.

  • Automatically Collected Information: When you download and use the App, we may automatically collect certain information standard to iOS applications, such as usage details, device type, operating system version, and crash reports. This data is anonymized and used strictly to improve the stability and performance of the App.

2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect or process to:

  • Convert and format patterns into an accessible, mobile-friendly view.

  • Deduct purchased credits when a pattern conversion is successfully completed.

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's functionality.

  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.

3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may disclose aggregated, anonymized data about our users without restriction.
We only share data with third parties in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share pattern text securely with third-party AI service providers strictly for the purpose of executing the text-conversion feature.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information where required to do so by law or subpoena, or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement.

4. Data Security
We implement reasonable measures to secure your data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, the transmission of information via the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data transmitted through our App.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information.
6. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we treat our users' information, we will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of the policy.
